Poison

This morning our 20-month-old decided that she wanted to try some of Mama's medicine. Needless to say within 15 minutes we had called 911, gotten a ride in the ambulance and were feeding liquid charcoal to 'S'. The charcoal is the consistency of pepto-bismol but the colour of ink. We were all covered in this black tar. The way the charcoal works is that it binds itself to the medicine and stops the body from being able to digest it. And it worked! She didn't get sick, just passed a poo the lovely shade of black. What a scare! They kept her there for a few hours to watch her. We are so careful with our medicine. Just goes to show that being anal is not too much to ask when it comes to your precious babies safety (especially when they are learning to climb on something higher and higher everyday!)
